God of Destruction

Alexander
(aka Alejandro, Asshat or Alex)

Series: Makai Kingdom
Gender: Male
Age: Unknown but as he’s called ‘kid’ and ‘brat’ often he’s probably pretty young for a demon. His appearance suggests he’s a teen.
Species: Destruction God/Demon
Sexuality: Unknown

Appearance

It’s hard to peg an age on Alex at first glance (especially considering demons age very differently) but he seems to be a tall teenager with a lean build. He has short messy dark-turquoise hair, odd round eyebrows that are vaguely shaped like commas and black eyes, although on closer inspection one may discover his eyes actually have a blue shade to them. Like all other demons Alex has pointed ears, which is probably what sets him apart from humans as he could be mistaken for one otherwise.

Though if the ears weren’t convincing enough for you, there’s always his clothes. He’s mostly dressed in blue and yellow with lots of fur trims. Starting with his jacket which is very short and looks like it’s only a pair of short sleeves as most of it is covered in what might be golden plating of some sort. The collar is fur-trimmed and he has a dark shawl-like cloth that floats around his head. He wears dark blue half-gloves (the fingerless kind) which are also fur-trimmed at the wrists. His chest and stomach are completely bare.

As for his pants; they are big blue and poofy, with the waistline fur-trimmed, of which the front is covered by a yellow tiger-print piece of cloth (fur-trimmed at the end). He also has a belt of big flat tomoe-beads on a string. His shoes are light blue sandals and he wears socks fashioned the same way as his gloves. To finish his outfit, he has a white-and-blue sack tied to his side.

His appearance and abilities in general seem to be references to the Shinto Gods Fujin and Rajin.

Personality

If you wanted to sum Alex up in one word it would be “childish”. Which he is, very much so. He’s not what someone would expect of a God of Destruction. Especially considering he’s actually quite honest, not something you find often in a Netherworld, and rather open with his emotions (although this is mostly because he just can’t hide them to save his life). He’s temperamental and can be pretty blunt with his words but he’s not a total bad guy.

Once he’s set a goal he’ll pursue it with obsessive determination. It would be admirable if it weren’t for the fact he just doesn’t know when to quit. He’s just as stubborn as a kid and if things don’t go his way? He’s perfectly capable of throwing the unreasonable tantrum kids tend to throw. Despite his childishness he’s not stupid though. He knows when to lay off his goal for a moment if a bigger threat presents itself. He’s willing to play nice if he has to.

Abilities

As the God of Destruction Alexander controls lightning freely. This can range from small sparks to the biggest blast of thunder you’ll ever see. He usually does this with the help of his drums “Divine Beat”. When excited or upset he usually emits sparks of lightning too. He also tends to float rather than walk. He’s capable of all this because of the strong Mana power he possesses.

In his world Mana power means everything to demons, without it you die. In Manhattan his Mana power will be severely limited as his levels will have dropped plus he’ll no longer have his drums. He’ll be able to use most of his more ‘basic’ moves but he won’t able to say, conjure up an entire storm. On top of that every time he does use his Mana for attacks, he’ll be drained pretty quickly.

Weaknesses

For one it would be the cocky attitude he has, he’s quite confident of himself and he does have the tendency to mock others. This could potentially piss off the wrong people and he’s actually been lucky Zetta has always been so patient with him. Also the problem of not knowing when to quit will probably end him up in trouble someday.

There’s also the matter of not being able to hide his emotions, he’s definitely not the type to bottle things up. Or rather, he just can’t. Although he could be standing in front of you and crying, he’d still deny it even if it’s obvious. His honesty and the fact he cares about what happens to his rival (Zetta) are also failings as a demon.

And of course there’s the matter of having very little Mana power in Manhattan. His body will be more like a regular teenage boy rather than the God he is and he’ll get hurt and drained much more easier. There’s also the disadvantage of not-knowing much about the human world.

Manhattanite or outsider?
Outsider.

History

We don’t actually get to know anything about Alexander’s past but what we do know is that he’s just like all the other Overlords who wish to expand and conquer Netherworlds. Although he has his own Netherworld he’s been after Zetta’s title as the Strongest Overlord for quite a long time and after 20,846 assassins and 6,413 meaningless wars still hasn’t managed to succeed.

In the game we get to meet Alex after Zetta got turned into the Sacred Tome and went off to explore his new Netherworld he just created with the help of some other Overlords. Someone had tipped Alex off Zetta would come there and so he awaited him. Rather than just killing him right away Alex simply taunted him and left his vassals to fight Zetta.

The next time we see Alex it’s just a glimpse as he walks away, leaving behind a note saying “Stupid Lord Zetta survived...Just like a cockroach, he simply refuses to die.” The style in which the note was written resembled that of the person who rewrote the Sacred Tome and got Lord Zetta trapped inside the book. So Zetta started thinking it might be Alex who planned all of that. Although it was quickly proven that this wasn’t the case, in fact Alex honestly knew nothing about the Sacred Tome.

Alex continues his attempts at taking Zetta’s life until at some point The One, the arbiter of universal disputes and the person who keeps the cosmos in order, is rumoured to be about. Alex decides to help Zetta out until The One left. Unfortunately due to a little mess-up it was believed Zetta was now cursed by The One and only had three days more to live. Alex got upset at this and redoubled his efforts in taking Zetta down before the curse could get him but Salome, Zetta’s former apprentice, thwarted him.

When he appears again he helps Zetta out, twice even. During that Zetta managed to get things settled and he finally returned to his own body. After a few days Alex comes back to check up on him, thinking he may have died because of the curse only to find that Zetta’s still alive and that The One they had met was a fake.
